Locally connected in Hendersonville
A local business, run plainly
HNV Brothers Dumpster Rental Hendersonville is owned and run by Hank Pressley and his brother Nolan, built to bring straightforward, dependable dumpster service to Hendersonville homeowners and contractors. Too many companies make you chase a quote, guess at a size, and hope a truck shows up when it said it would. We set out to run the kind of outfit we'd want to call ourselves — a team that actually answers the phone and follows through on what it promises.
That's still the whole mission: to make waste removal easier, cleaner and more straightforward for everyone in Hendersonville. Upfront pricing, responsible disposal, and staying involved in the community we live and work in — that isn't marketing language here, it's how the company actually runs day to day.
Hendersonville sits at the edge of North Carolina's Blue Ridge escarpment, with a well-preserved historic Main Street downtown and, just beyond it, Henderson County's working apple orchards — more apples are grown here than in any other county in the state. That mix of small-town main street and working farmland shapes a lot of what shows up on our schedule: renovation debris from a downtown storefront one week, orchard and packing-shed cleanup out toward Edneyville or Dana the next.
What we look like today
We own and manage our own dumpster fleet, handle scheduling and logistics in-house, and our own drivers deliver every container we set down. Our yard on 701 Oriole Dr coordinates deliveries across Hendersonville and the communities spreading out across Henderson County — from Fletcher and the Village of Flat Rock out to Mills River and Edneyville.
Our team knows this area — the tighter downtown blocks where a container has to sit with extra care, the difference between the Village of Flat Rock and East Flat Rock (two genuinely different places a few miles apart that happen to share part of a name), and how a Blue Ridge mountain grade or a wet gravel driveway changes what a delivery can handle. We know a container placed wrong on a tight downtown lot can mean a blocked sidewalk, and we know exactly what a foggy, icy morning does to a mountain delivery route.
Our promise, in one line: the flat rate we quote on the phone is the rate on the invoice, and if we ever get that wrong, we make it right — not you.
Why we care about where it ends up
Hauling debris for a living gives you a fairly direct relationship with the consequences. We live here. So we treat North Carolina's waste rules as more than paperwork — we sort out clean wood, metal, cardboard, concrete and yard debris where the volume justifies it, and we'd rather spend five minutes on the phone telling you where an old appliance should go than quietly let it become someone else's problem.
If you want the detail on that, the NC Department of Environmental Quality publishes guidance on solid waste and construction & demolition disposal statewide, and Henderson County Solid Waste handles the county-level side of it. Our own plain-English version is in this guide.
Hendersonville climate and geography, handled
Being tucked into the Blue Ridge foothills means real elevation change from one delivery to the next — a flat downtown lot one stop, a steep gravel switchback out past Dana the next. Fog, black ice on mountain curves and the occasional snow are a genuine, practical consideration from late fall through early spring, and our drivers plan routes and timing around them rather than treating them as an exception. On the geography side, the French Broad River runs along the county's western edge near Mills River and Horse Shoe, and the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site sits right in the Village of Flat Rock — part of what makes this stretch of North Carolina feel distinct from the rest of the state.
The rest of the year, steady renovation work downtown, new construction near the Asheville Regional Airport corridor and seasonal orchard cleanup keep a predictable rhythm of cleanout and yard-debris work on our schedule alongside the usual home cleanouts and remodels.

Our team
The people who answer the phone
Every call we take is handled by our own small team — not a rotating cast from a call center somewhere else. Here's exactly who you're talking to when you call HNV Brothers.

Hank Pressley
CEO & Co-FounderHank built HNV Brothers around a straightforward idea: run a dumpster company the way he'd want to be treated as a customer — one flat rate, a driver who actually knows the address, and a phone that gets answered by someone who can do something about the problem. He still expects to be the person you can reach directly if something goes sideways, and he's usually somewhere between the yard on 701 Oriole Dr and a customer's driveway on any given day.

Nolan Pressley
COO & Co-FounderHank's brother and the co-founder who keeps the fleet, the routes and the day-to-day operation running. Nolan is the one who plots out how a delivery gets up a steep gravel driveway near Dana or through a tight downtown block without a wasted trip.

Tyler Sizemore
Lead DriverTyler is behind the wheel more than anyone else on the team — from tight downtown blocks to new-build driveways out past Mills River. He knows which streets need a careful approach before he ever gets the call.

Denise Caldwell
Office ManagerDenise keeps the daily schedule, the fleet and the yard on 701 Oriole Dr running the way Hendersonville customers expect — a truck where it's supposed to be, when it's supposed to be there, whatever the weather is doing up in the hills that week.

Carla Whitfield
Customer Care ManagerCarla is usually the first voice you hear when you call, and the one who follows up after your rental to make sure the pickup went the way you expected.

Melissa Runion
Dispatch CoordinatorMelissa keeps the trucks moving in the right order — matching drivers to jobs, running swap-out schedules for contractors, and making sure a same-day call before noon actually gets a container on the ground that afternoon.

What you can expect on delivery day
- A call or text ahead from your driver so you're not waiting around all day.
- Boards laid under the rails before the container touches your surface.
- Placement confirmed with you before it's set down, not after.
- A quick, honest rundown of what can and can't go in.
- The site left clean on pickup — we sweep up what falls.
Reviews
What customers tell us
I almost booked a 30 yard for a kitchen gut in Mills River. Whoever answered the phone at HNV Brothers talked me down to a 15 and was dead right — I never came close to filling it.
Priya N.Mills River — Kitchen Remodel
We were clearing out an old packing shed on our orchard property and weren't sure a dumpster company would even want to make the drive up our gravel road. HNV Brothers didn't blink — had a 20 yard up there the next morning, and their driver clearly knew the back roads on our side of the county.
Todd B.Edneyville — Orchard Debris Cleanup
We used HNV Brothers for a whole new-build in East Flat Rock and never once missed a scheduled swap. Same driver most weeks, which meant I didn't have to re-explain the site every time he pulled in. Flat rate held the whole way through.
Renata V.East Flat Rock — New Construction

Answers
About HNV Brothers — common questions
Is HNV Brothers actually based in Hendersonville?
Yes. Our yard and office are at 701 Oriole Dr, Hendersonville, NC 28792, and that's where our dispatch runs day to day. We're not an out-of-state call center — when you call (828) 845-7494 you reach our own Hendersonville team.
How long have you been in business?
We don't lead with a specific founding date because what matters more is how we operate today: a family-run, locally owned Hendersonville business — run day to day by two Pressley brothers — with a small team that answers the phone and gets a container on your driveway when we say we will. Ask us about our track record with a specific job type and we'll give you a straight answer.
Are your drivers licensed and insured?
Our fleet and drivers are fully licensed and insured to operate in North Carolina. We're happy to provide a certificate of insurance for general contractors and property managers before a job starts — just ask when you call. It's a routine request for us, and we can usually turn it around the same day so it doesn't hold up your project schedule.
Do you work with contractors on ongoing jobs?
Constantly. Remodelers, roofers, property managers and builders working new-construction growth near the Asheville Regional Airport corridor, downtown renovation projects, and orchard and rural land-clearing work make up a large share of our week. We can set up standing swap-out arrangements with a consistent driver, priority call windows during rough-weather stretches, and consolidated monthly invoicing. Call and ask for the commercial side, and we'll build a schedule that fits how your crews actually work.
What happens to the material after pickup?
Our driver weighs it, then sorts where the load makes sorting worthwhile — clean wood, scrap metal, cardboard, clean concrete and yard debris get diverted rather than landfilled. Everything else goes to a permitted disposal facility. Materials restricted from ordinary North Carolina landfill disposal are separated out and routed to the right facility, per NC Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and Henderson County Solid Waste Division rules.
